Christopher Ward creates golden Jumping Hour watch

British watchmaker Christopher Ward claims it has produced the world’s most precise jumping hour watch in the Mark II version of its C9 Harrison Jumping Hour timepiece.

The latest watches are an evolution and refinement of the Mark I, and continue to use the 2824-2 movement from ETA, along with the JJ01 complication created by Master Watchmaker Johannes Jahnke.

For the Jumping Hour Mark II, Johannes further refined his ingenious adaptation of ETA’s 2824-2 movement to produce what he describes as: “Probably the most precise jumping hour movement the world has yet seen, and a true collectors piece.”

Production of the C9 Jumping Hour Mark II will be limited to just 250 units worldwide. Each piece will feature an 18ct solid rose-gold bezel.

“For our first use of solid gold we knew we had to go with rose gold,” says the company’s co-founder Chris Ward. “Rose has now become the dominant gold colour in virtually all the major markets, including the UK, and works beautifully with the classically elegant style of the C9 Jumping Hour Mark II.”
