Chopard crosses finish line to mark historic milestone with Mille Miglia

Fine jewelry and watchmaker Chopard returns to the race course to make it three decades in partnership with the Mille Miglia.

Chopard has been the historic partner and official timekeeper of the Mille Miglia, the legendary Italian classic car event, since 1988.

This year’s event, which took place from May 16th to 19th 2018, saw 440 teams competing over a distance of 1,000 miles from Brescia to Rome and back via Tuscany.

Karl-Friedrich Scheufele, Chopard co-president, participated alongside his long-lasting friend and racing legend Jacky Ickx.

Several friends of the brands attended the race, including American actor Adrian Brody and Porsche driver Timo Bernhard. Albert Carreras, the son of the famous tenor José Carreras, went to the starting line with his friend Jordi Pascual. Chopard took five cars to the starting line.

Chopard also presented Mille Miglia watch models; the Mille Miglia 2018 Race Edition, the Mille Miglia Racing Colours and the Mille Miglia GTS Power Control Grigio Speciale.

Earlier this year it was announced that the brand is to sponsor the 28th Annual California Mille race. The California Mille is a 1,000 mile, four-day excursion through the back roads and time-capsule towns of northern California.
