Casio combines toughened titanium with retro design for technicolor digital timepiece

Casio titanium

Casio’s latest addition to the square full metal 5000 sereis, the GMW-B5000TR combines a retro style with modern materials in the form of a new titanium alloy developed with Nippon Steel Corporation over a six-year period of R&D.

The alloy is said to be twice as hard as pure titanium but has the same lightweight, anti-corrosive and hypoallergenic properties.

This makes it possible to produce a mirror finish comparable to stainless steel, an effect put to work in the GMW-B5000TR.

Casio makes sure the technique immediately catches the eye by using multicolor ion plating for segments of the bracelet and buttons, in red, light and dark gray, gold and dark blue.

The GMW-B5000TR is equipped with Smartphone Link functionality for automatic time adjustment, world time, and other functions.
