Bulova CURV chronograph redefines the wristwatch

Bulova CURV Movement 98A162 sml

Bulova presented one of the stars of this year’s Baselworld in the shape of the world’s first curved chronograph movement.

The Bulova CURV wraps effortlessly around the wrist as both the movement and case are designed using curved, ergonomic lines.

Bulova has built an entire 12-piece collection around the movement with pieces ranging from technical titanium case and rubber strapped sports watch to stainless steel bracelet dress watch.

The CURV movement vibrates at 262kHz, what Bulova will now be describing as high performance rather than the previous Ultra High Frequency (UHF) title. The second hand of the CURV moves in one-second increments while the smooth sweep will be reserved for Bulova’s top of the range Precisionist line.

Jeffrey Cohen, Bulova president, said: “Bulova understands that staying in the game means staying ahead of the curve, with an innovative mindset that leads from one success to the next. Bulova CURV reimagines what a watch should be. It is the perfect synthesis of avant-garde thinking, expert craftsmanship and superior quality—the hallmarks of Bulova’s creativity since 1875.”
