This year Vacheron Constantin, perhaps the most artistically inclined of the luxury watch brands, seeks to expand its cultural arts collection, the Metiers d’Art Fabuleux Ornements series, with four new pieces.
Ten master craftsmen have been drafted in to create horological tributes to Ottoman architecture, Chinese embroidery, Indian manuscripts and French lacework. Each of the four decorative timepieces features a hand-engraved, skeletonised ultra-thin 1003 calibre in 18ct gold.
Techniques on display in this colourful new series include Grand Feu champlevé enamelling, hand engraving, hand guilloche and stone-cloisonne. Each model is limited to just 20 pieces.
