MB and F LM101 platinum RGB

For its SIHH debut – as part of the show’s new Carré des Horlogers section – MB&F brings a platinum version of its brand-redefining Legacy Machine 101 to Geneva.

The LM101 changed expectations among MB&F customers when it was released in 2014. Brand founder Maximilian Büsser came up with the Legacy Machine concept when considering what his watches would look like had he been born in 1867 instead of 1967.

Until this point MB&F had only explored the avant garde with resolutely futuristic watch designs that pushed new boundaries and challenged the idea of what a wristwatch could look like.

While the LM101 is more recognisable, more traditional it is still undeniably MB&F in its approach. Rather than merely show-off its balance through a cut-out on the dial like so many other watches, the LM101 proudly exhibits the theatre of its oscillator on top of two grand arches reaching high above the dial.

While friend of the brand Kari Voutilainen may have finalised the decorative finish of the LM101, the movement was the first from MB&F to have been conceived and developed entirely in-house.
