Bell & Ross under starter’s orders with new Renault F1 team

French watch brand Bell & Ross has entered the sponsorship big leagues by backing the newly revived Renault Sport F1 team.

The official watch partnership with the French car manufacturer’s new Formula 1, its first since 2011, will see Bell & Ross brought down to earth as its watch’s primarily focus on aviation.

Unveiling his team drivers Brit Jolyon Palmer and Dane Kevin Magnussen, Renault Group CEO Carlos Ghosn stated that the team had been given the task of reaching the podium within three years.

The partnership was unveiled at a launch event in Paris yesterday that saw both drivers wearing Bell & Ross watches and their race suits emblazoned with the watch brand’s logo at the wrist.

It would appear that Bell & Ross will initially be using the partnership to promote its BR-X1 Carbon Forgé, a high tech chronograph encased in forged carbon.

Renault took over the existing Lotus Formula 1 team to bring the car marque’s name back to the sport and presented their car, the RS16, in black and gold livery.
