Beaverbrooks opens two Surrey shops on the same day

Beaverbrooks held a promotion in conjunction with TAG Heuer at the opening of its Guildford store.

Beaverbrooks opened two new stores yesterday in Bracknell and Guildford.

It helps that the two Surrey towns are just 40 miles apart, allowing head office executives to attend both openings.

The latest openings expand the Beaverbrooks network to 71 stores nationwide.

The new Bracknell store is in the recently opened Lexicon shopping centre.

The Guildford store is located in The Friary Shopping centre, Guildford’s largest retail destination.

The store celebrated its launch with a TAG Heuer partnership – inviting football fans to test their sporting knowledge in a time-pressured quiz to win a pair of Premier League match tickets.

The Bracknell store opened as an anchor tenant at the new Lexicon shopping centre.

Anna Blackburn, CEO at Beaverbrooks, which will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2019, said: “We’re thrilled to announce our 70th and 71st store openings in Bracknell and Guildford. With the two new locations we have identified prime shopping centre developments, providing a fantastic opportunity to expand our portfolio and extend our diamond, jewellery and watch offering to even more customers throughout the UK.”

The expansion builds on a successful three years for Beaverbrooks in which turnover has increased by almost 20% since 2013-14 to £119 million in 2016-17.

Operating profit over the same period has more than doubled from under £6 million to over £12 million.

*Operating profit is defined as total profit before distribution of profit share, charitable donations, taxation and dividends.
