Baume et Mercier will be showing an elegant, 1950s-inspired big date Clifton with power reserve at SIHH next month.
The 43mm Clifton Big Date and Power Reserve automatic uses polished gold Arabic numerals and hour markers with a black minute and quarter second track on the off-white dial. Features in red and blue, popular on Swiss chronographs in the 1950s, are obvious at five-minute intervals as well as on the power reserve hand and depleted mark.
A big date window is given pride of place below the 12 o’clock position and uses two date dials to present the date on the same plane.
Baume et Mercier’s rectangular art deco Hampton collection also gets two handsome new steel automatics to celebrate its 20th anniversary.
