Barton Clay fine Jewelers appoints David Norman as president

Barton Clay Fine Jewelers based in Birmingham, Alabama has appointed a new president to lead the way as 2020 comes to an end, calling on decades of industry experience to do so.

Industry stalwart David Norman assumed responsibilities for the role earlier this month, taking the reins on October 2 in leading the family-owned and operated firm.

He will focus on finding and representing fine diamond and jewelry brands from major US-based manufacturers.

A report in the Birmingham Business Journal explained how Norman brings more than 45 years of experience within the jewelry industry to the role after starting his career at Fox’s Jewelers.

Commenting on the appointment, owner and CEO of the firm, Eric C. McClain, said: “We’re thrilled that David Norman has agreed to join Barton Clay as president.”

Adding: “We originally brought him in as a consultant and found his advice invaluable. His varied experience in the jewelry industry — from merchandising to marketing to e-commerce — will be instrumental in guiding our firm into the future.”
