Atlantic adds manufacture-refined movement models at the top end of its range

Atlantic wants to demonstrate its high end watchmaking skills with the limited edition Worldmaster 1888 Luso.

1888 refers to the company’s founding year.

The Luso uses a manually wound 6497 base movement in a 44mm steel case presenting a sunburst dial in black or silver.

The dial is cut away at 8-o’clock to reveal part of the movement and a small second subdial sits at 6 o’clock.

Only 888 pieces will be made.

“It is with pride that we present a watch with a manufacture-refined movement for the first time in the history of our company. It was our intention to create a timepiece with an aura of nostalgia, a model that reflects our true value philosophy and lives up to our promise of an excellent price/performance ratio,” says Atlantic Watch CEO Jürg Bohne.

The watch will retail for CHF 1395 (£1127), considerably more than Atlantic’s core range of quartz watches, such as the new Seaway for men, that typically sell for less than £500.

The watches will be seen for the first time at this month’s Baselworld.
