Aston Martin Formula 1 Laureato Absolute Chronograph takes poll position for Girard-Perregaux

Girard-Perregaux's new Laureato Absolute Chronograph for Aston Martin, the company's Formula 1 partner.

Girard-Perregaux has engineered a limited edition Laureato Absolute Chronograph in a titanium and carbon case to mark its partnership with the Aston Martin Aramco Cognizant Formula 1 team.

The carbon for the case comes from two Aston Martin F1 cars that raced in the 2021 season.

Only 306 will be made, priced at $27,500.

The watch has the same racing green colored dial as the Aston Martin F1 team’s car, accented with white hour markers and lume-filled hands plus yellow central seconds and subdial counter hands.

The 44mm watch uses the  GP03300-1058 self-winding mechanical movement with 46 hours power reserve.

“From the outset, working with Aston Martin has been a joy. It has not just been a case of putting our name on a Formula 1 car. On the contrary, we have collaborated on various projects, resulting in the production of two very different watches. Working together has led to some innovative and interesting ideas, culminating in the creation of new exciting products.

“It has also led to some wonderful friendships forming between both companies’ personnel. With our previous collaborative models, the emphasis was on style and elegance. However, with this latest watch we sought to work closely with the F1 side of the brand, focusing more on the idea of performance,” says Patrick Pruniaux, Girard-Perregaux’s CEO.
