Arrests after £70k TAG Heuer night time heist

Five people have been arrested and charged after £70,000 of TAG Heuer watches were stolen from a Chisholm Hunter store in Livingston.

The arrests were made following a search of two addresses in Livingston where some of the watches were recovered, along with a significant amount of heroin. Three men and two women have been arrested and will appear at Livingston Sheriff Court today.

Police have described the robbery as a "brazen crime" and officers in West Lothain are still appealing for witnesses to help them trace the remaining watches.

The raid took place when two men broke into the Almondvale shopping centre at about 3.45am on Thursday morning using sledgehammers. They then smashed through Chisholm Hunter’s window to steal 30 TAG Heuer watches left on display.

Police Scotland Detective Constable Bruce Kennedy said: "This was a brazen crime which has led to the theft of 30 watches, worth thousands of pounds each, being stolen.

"We are appealing to anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident, who noticed the vehicle, to contact police as a matter of urgency. Similarly anyone who believes they have been offered the stolen items for sale, or has any other information that can assist our inquiries, should also get in touch."

Anyone with information can contact Police Scotland on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
