Hodinkee is adding Apple Business Chat to its online store, which will let shoppers communicate directly with businesses using the Messages app on iPhone, iPad, Mac and even the nemesis of Swiss watchmakers, Apple Watch.
To start an Apple Business Chat, customers click the ‘Chat with Messages’ button on the Hodinkee Shop website and it will be answered by what Hodinkee is calling a shop editor who will answer questions and provide information on products and the purchasing process.
Transactions can be completed using Apple Pay within the Messages app.
“This service gives us a powerful and direct connection to our customers and enables us to quickly and efficiently respond to their needs,” says Russell Kelly, chief commercial officer at Hodinkee.
“Apple Business Chat makes communicating with our customers as easy as messaging a friend, and we expect it will quickly become a preferred service channel,” he adds.
