Hudson Yards has swallowed $25 billion from developers building the biggest new neighborhood in Manhattan for over a century, so the opening of anchor tenant Watches of Switzerland gave A-Listers from the city a chance to check out the latest prestige timepieces and the surrounding retail, restaurant, residential and commercial environment.
The 6,500 square foot boutique is located in the shopping mall of the new Hudson Yards development, which has been described as the largest private real estate project in the history of the United States.
It has a central multibrand showroom book-ended with Patek Philippe and Rolex boutiques that are also managed by Watches of Switzerland.
Industry executives rubbed shoulders with stars of the television, movies, music, politics and the catwalk as the $1 billion turnover Watches of Switzerland Group put on a show.
