A Lange & Sohne to show new look Saxonia at SIHH

The watchmaking name that founded the German town of Glashutte as a centre for horology will introduce a new-look to its Saxonia line at SIHH in January.

The A. Lange & Sohne Saxonia, Saxonia Automatic and Saxonia Dual Time each come with a newly designed dial, which the company hopes will imbue the collection, a brand mainstay for 20 years, with a more prominent face.

Double applied solid gold hour markers now grace the 3, 6, 9 and 12 o’clock positions, but now appear closer to the edge of the dial. Minute markers have been extended slightly while on the Automatic and Dual Time, the 10 minute markers of the small seconds are now identified by numerals.

Case sizes have been reduced too; the Saxonia now measures 35mm while the Saxonia Dual Time is now 38.5mm to match the Automatic.
