A. Lange & Söhne celebrates 25 years with Lange 1 complication

A. Lange & Söhne has introduced the most complicated model yet of the Lange 1 collection.

The 25-piece limited edition Tourbillon Perpetual Calendar will come in white-gold with blued-steel hands.

In celebrating 25 years, the new edition has discreetly nuanced shades of blue and includes the numerals of the outsize date and the alligator leather strap.

The tourbillon cock features a blue engraving shaped like the Lange outsize date with the number 25.

Here, the number 25 not only refers to the birthday but also to a special detail of the original launch.

It took place on 24 October 1994 and on this day, the date displays of the debut watches were set to the 25th so they would be current when showcased in the following day’s newspapers.

It is powered by the automatic calibre L082.1, a 624-part movement which is attained with a heavy central rotor featuring an outer centrifugal mass in platinum.

The movement includes black polish on the upper side of the tourbillon cage and a diamond endstone bearing that holds the tourbillon.
