50 Brands of Basel: Emporio Armani

Fossil has seriously upped the elegance stakes for Emporio Armani’s latest design. Joining the Classic collection, the tourneau-shaped case of this automatic boasts flowing, liquid lines and clear Art Deco influences while its fluted crown provides an angular counterpoint, set with a green cabochon.

The entire case is so smooth and graceful that it appears as though the pink gold PVD stainless steel could be at melting point, gently swelling and enveloping the wrist.

The Classic’s blue dial is awash with guilloched waves offset with applied, case-matching hour markers.

An aperture at the 12 o’clock reveals the automatic STP1 calibre’s balance wheel and open-worked bridge, while the movement can be viewed through a sapphire crystal caseback. A matching blue alligator strap completes this supremely sartorial design.
