Earlier this year WatchPro unveiled its Watches of the Year 2012 – the 10 winning timepieces and 90 highly commended watches that we felt boasted commercial appeal, innovation and had wowed consumers and retailers alike over the past 12 months.
Highly commended for WatchPro Rising Star of the Year 2012 was the Girard-Perregaux Vintage 1945 Large Date Moon-Phases.
Girard-Perregaux this year announced a change of distribution channel in the UK that marks a new drive for the luxury Swiss brand following its new model launches at SIHH in January. Among the watches unveiled was this striking vintage-inspired moon phase.
Taking its strong lines from the Art Deco movement, Girard-Perregaux says the Vintage 1945 Large Date Moon-Phases is a true classic: pure in style and boasting perfect symmetry.
Within its 36mm case beats one of the brand’s own manufacture mechanical movements while high-finishes, such as its diamond polished rhodium-plated mainplate, Côtes de Genève decorated bridges and black alligator strap, make it a luxury watch with a real sense of timelessness.
WatchPro is looking forward to seeing where the brand will go in the coming year and believes it is truly deserved of its position among the highly commended Rising Stars of the Year.
