Rolex has returned for the third year to design and host The Greenroom backstage at the Dolby Theater for the Oscars on March 4.
Each year, its in-house design team creates a reception area inside the 1000-square-foot space. Last year, the brand spent 4 days creating its Greenroom, the theme being gold and green, colors associated the watchmaker. This year, the theme is a Swiss Alps chalet with virtual windows looking out onto the Matterhorn.
Last year, Rolex became the official sponsor for the entire Oscars event.
The chalet living room style area boasts beige and green sofas, similar to the gold and green theme of last year, as well as bronze details on the wooden beams throughout.
This year also includes a library of books and Rolex-related objects. The library will also display photos of actors wearing Rolex watches and film stills from infamous Hollywood scenes in honor of the 90th anniversary of the Academy Awards. There is of course a luxurious looking bar at the chalet also.
A classic Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust 41 will also be on display. Finally, during the broadcast of the Oscars, the audience will see a Rolex film highlighting the “art of storytelling on screen.”
