Omega golf ambassadors, Rory McIlroy, Sergio Garcia and Tommy Fleetwood have opened the 100th PGA Championship with a shot to mark its anniversary.
The trio each attempted shots from the shadows of the Gateway Arch National Park to see whose accuracy was dialled in from a tee positioned 100-yards away from the target.
Omega is an official patron of the PGA Championship, which will begin on Thursday at Bellerive Country Club in St Louis.
Sergio Garcia, an ambassador for the brand, said: “Today was a really unique and enjoyable day being here in St. Louis and hitting golf shots in such an exceptional setting. The PGA Championship is very special, and I’m glad we get to celebrate the event with such an impressive start to the week.”
Irish golfer McIlroy, who has won the major on two occasions, said: “The PGA Championship holds a special place in my heart, and today I was excited to see OMEGA coordinate this thrilling way to celebrate 100 years of the tournament. This iconic setting made for competitive fun with both Sergio and Tommy.”
