New Seiko subsidiary launches first ever piece exclusive to America

The Grand Seiko Corporation of America has launched its first limited edition watch, available exclusively to the US market.

The new subsidiary became the first independent Grand Seiko firm in the world when it was formed at the start of October, wholly owned by the Seiko Watch Company.

Powered by the 9R Spring Drive movement, the debut US limited edition watch comes in three variations of the 40mm 44GS case; a platinum 20 piece model, an 18-karat pink gold 50 piece model, and a 558 piece stainless steel model.

On the release, chairman and CEO of the Grand Seiko Corporation of America, Akio Naito, said: “For Grand Seiko as a brand, it was especially important for us to design and unveil a collection of watches solely for the United States, as it’s one of our highest priority markets,”

He added: “By doing so, we feel this will help further reinforce our dedication and ongoing commitment to the growing business in the market, and position our brand for exciting things to come in the future.”
