Harry Winston has declared 2017 as the year of its Avenue Collection, and marked it this month with the introduction of the Avenue C Dual Time that gives jet-set women an elegant Art Deco piece to keep track of two time zones.
The watch shows the time on two dials, the larger one with Roman numerals and a smaller one showing the home time with Arabic numerals.
In addition to the difference in size and numerals, the orientation of the minute track changes from a vertical position in the local time counter, to a horizontal position for home time.
Both sets of hands are powered by two independent quartz movements.
It is possible to set the hour and the minute hands of both mother of pearl faces using double crowns on the side of the case, which means that non-standard time differences of half-hour and quarter-hour derivations (used in countries like India, Iran and Nepal) can be accounted for.
Named after Fifth Avenue, the Manhattan home to Harry Winston’s New York Flagship Salon, the Avenue Timepiece Collection evokes the stylish and streamlined geometry of the Art Deco period, when Harry Winston founded his namesake business in 1932.
The 18ct white or rose gold elongated rectangular case of the Avenue C Dual Time is gently cambered in the center to sit comfortably on the wrist.
The case is studded with 42 brilliant-cut diamonds.
