Richard Mille has welcomed Sky Sports golf presenter Sarah Stirk as its latest friend of the brand.
Stirk is the face of golf on Sky Sports in the UK as well as writing regular golfing columns for national newspapers and golf magazines.
The sporting watch brand was attracted to the journalist because of ‘her unique blend of elegance, knowledge and engaging personality during her live hosting of major golf events’. Stirk was seen as an integral part of this year’s coverage of the Ryder Cup at Gleneagles in September and has been wearing a number of Richard Mille watches during live broadcasts in 2014.
Stirk’s own introduction to Richard Mille came after meeting brand ambassador Bubba Watson during her presenting duties. She described becoming fascinated with the complexity of the RM 038 Tourbillon and the fact that Watson was the only golfer on the tour to wear his watch during play.
She said: “Listening to Bubba I could see that he had a real passion for his Richard Mille watch. What is impressive is that such a technical timepiece can be so reliable, despite the pressure of withstanding one of Bubba’s immense golf swings.
“As a television presenter I have to work to a strict schedule so excellent timekeeping is essential. It is also important that I look and feel good on camera and the new collection of ladies watches certainly help with that.”
