Peers Hardy has taken on the distribution of watch brand Daniel Wellington in the UK.
The Peers Hardy Group, which distributes the Ice-Watch, Radley and Moshi Watch brands among others, is introducing “preppy-style” watch brand Daniel Wellington to the UK market.
Filip Tysander is the founder of the brand who launched it after meeting a man called Daniel Wellington from the British Isles who wore his Rolex on an old weathered Nato strap.
Tysander was inspired by Wellington’s style and consequently created the same-named brand.
The watches in the range are slimline and and feature the Nato strap.
A spokesperson for the brand said: “The ‘preppy’ trend is bigger than ever before. And while there are many big players in the fashion industry that cater to preppy needs, such as Ralph Lauren, Gant and Brooks Brothers, we felt that there was an empty space in the watch market. There was something missing.
“We believe that Daniel Wellington fills that gap. The vision is that when someone thinks of a preppy dressed person, he or she is wearing a Daniel Wellington watch.”
