Baselworld creates video blast to remind absentees what they missed this year

Baselworld has blasted its global e-mail database with a video showing the highlights of this year’s exhibition in 60 seconds.

The organizer appears to be rolling out a year-round marketing campaign to ensure that support does not dip further than in 2018 when the number exhibitors stood at around 700 exhibitors, half the number of just a few years ago.

The video promotion reminds people that the core of the exhibition remains unchanged, with the main hall housing all of the major watch industry players as in previous years, and the appearance of massive global celebrities bringing star power to the event.

The world’s media and retail buyers also feature prominently in the video.

Baselworld says that all of the biggest Hall 1 exhibitors — including Rolex, Patek Philippe, LVMH, Swatch Group and Breitling — have signed on for the 2019 event.
